2024 Father Geiger (002)

Father Michael Geiger

I met with Bishop Thomas the week of February 23, and out of great pastoral concern for you he has asked me to serve as your parochial administrator while Father Jeremy is out on health leave. Bishop Thomas wanted to ensure that the good work of this community of faith continued with its usual vibrancy and devotion. We continue to join our prayers together for Father Jeremy’s continued healing and strengthening! I am truly here as a servant leader to you, and I look forward with joy to spending the next few months with you. The CCUP staff members are amazing and they have welcomed me with open arms. Father Tim McIntire, OSFS, has also graciously offered his assistance in helping with our Mass and Sacramental needs. I am grateful for all their support.
Although I will only be with you for a few months, I would like to offer you a few details about me. I was ordained in 2002 and have had the blessing of serving in a variety of parish and school ministries, including Pastor of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish from 2018- 2024, Pastor of Epiphany of the Lord Parish, East Toledo, from 2014 – 2018 and prior to that, Pastor of the parish communities of Sacred Heart, Bethlehem and St Joseph, Crestline from 2008 – 2014. Other priestly assignments include St. Paul, Norwalk, Central Catholic High School, and the Historic Church of St. Patrick.
Prior to entering seminary, I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and worked for ten years in the corporate world. I then received a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Divinity/Theology from the Pontifical College Josephinum, and completed graduate coursework in Catholic Educational Leadership at the University of Dayton.
Born and raised in Maumee. I am from a large family with three brothers, three sisters, and at last count, 45 nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews! Currently, I reside and assist at St. Joseph Parish, Sylvania, as I have been on a partial health since July due to a neurological/muscular condition that by the grace of God, has improved greatly!
